They're generated with your browser's Web Crypto random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues). Passwords exist only on your screen and are never sent or stored.
How long should a password be?

Use at least 12 characters with all four character types for everyday accounts, and 16+ for important ones — ideally with a password manager and two-factor authentication.
Is this tool free? Do I need an account?
